隨著社會對科技的依賴日益加深，STEM教育的重要性也愈加明顯。國立屏東大學STEM教育國際碩士學位學程為回應這一趨勢，特別於113-2學期舉辦了「STEM 教育系列演講」，旨在引導學生深入認識科學、科技、工程與數學等不同面向的觀點。系列首場由香港退休的設計與科技（Design and Technology）教師、中學前副校長－溫建國先生主講，探討設計與科技教師的專業發展。本場次共吸引 24 位參與者，溫先生強調教育中人工智慧意識日益增長的重要性，並指出教師應將AI概念融入課程中，以因應科技驅動的未來。他也分享了不同層次STEM教學活動案例，說明教學設計如何提升學生的參與度與學習成效。

第二場講座由姐妹校麻薩諸塞大學洛厄爾分校的 Katherine King助理教授主講，共有 37 位與會者。她分享了數學在幼兒 STEM 教育中的關鍵角色，並介紹五個數學Standard Processes：解決問題、推理與證明、溝通、表徵與連結，說明這些歷程如何強化數學教學與跨領域學習。參與者的熱情展現出將這些策略實際應用於教學實務的高度意願。

此系列講座不僅為屏大的學生提供了寶貴的觀點，也促進了創新教學方法的發展，協助師生面對當今教育中的多元挑戰。此外，透過這類活動，教育者之間得以相互合作與交流，有助於改進教學實踐，並為全球STEM教育的提升作出貢獻。當學生將這些知識帶入其所處的社群時，他們也成為推動 STEM學習的重要倡議者，對啟發未來世代的探索力與創新力至關重要。

整體而言，國立屏東大學的 STEM 教育系列講座展現了主動積極的教育態度，鼓勵專業發展與知識共享，並賦予學生在STEM領域中發光發熱的能力。The importance of STEM education has become increasingly clear as society relies more on technology. National Pingtung University (NPTU) has responded by launching the STEM Education Lecture Series to introduce students to various insights in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The series opened with Mr. Kin Kwok Wan discussing the professional development of design and technology teachers. With 24 participants present, he highlighted the growing need for artificial intelligence (AI) awareness in education and the necessity for educators to integrate AI concepts into their teaching for a technology-driven future. He also shared examples of varying levels of STEM activities, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful planning to optimize student engagement and learning outcomes. In the second session, Dr. Katherine King spoke to 37 attendees about the significance of mathematics in early childhood STEM education. She introduced five standard mathematical processes—problem-solving, reasoning and proof, communication, representation, and connections—and explained how these can enhance math instruction and interdisciplinary learning. The enthusiasm of participants showcased a commitment to applying these strategies in their teaching practices. The series provides NPTU students with valuable insights and fosters innovative teaching methodologies important for addressing today’s complex challenges. Furthermore, events like this foster collaboration among educators, helping to improve practices and contribute to the global enhancement of STEM education. As students take their knowledge into their communities, they become advocates for STEM learning, vital for nurturing inquiry and innovation in future generations. Overall, the STEM Education Lecture Series at NPTU exemplifies a proactive approach to education, encouraging professional development and knowledge sharing while empowering students to champion STEM fields.
