●Introduction：

           The team members of the STEM Education Center of Pingtung University invited Li Zheng-xian, the founder of Naken Carbon International Co., Ltd. On the day of the event, 140 teachers and students from our school participated in the event. During the meeting, they shared how to successfully carbonize the discarded water chestnut shells into economically valuable water chestnut shells .Its name is Caltrop Biochar .At the same time it also combined with SDGs environmental sustainability and local creative spirit, integrates into local characteristics, and integrates STEM education spirit, uses what school has learned to find problems (waste , aging problems), not only creates opportunities but also solves problems with professional knowledge background. The process is to turn the water chestnut shell waste into “Caltrop Biochar” with economic value through high temperature carbonization, and use scientific data to present the true effect of Caltrop Biochar (high adsorption). Through this activity, we learned how to combine industry, government, and schools to put resources into society, solving environmental problems caused by agricultural waste, creating employment opportunities, and forming a local economy to implement a friendly environment. The speaker also mentioned that there are more agricultural waste materials in the process of testing, waiting for finding out their value, which fully realize the sentence "there is no agricultural waste, only wrongly discarded biological resources"  and achieve the core concept of social value of sustainable development.. This activity can let students know and affirm what they have learned, stimulate their desire to learn, and understand how to apply what they have learned to work, and apply what they have learned to life, they can tap and create their own value!
